one word...

Amazing.
Let me tell you a little about my friend Lola. She dreams a champage dream, strawberry surprise, pink linen on whtie paper. Lavender and cream, fields of butterflies, reality escapes her.

Introducting Lola vs Harper, launching January 2011.

Oh, and Harper? He fell in love with Lola and broke her heart.

opppp shoppping.

So, on Thursday bored during my lunch break I decided to pop into the local vinnies and see if I could dig up some cute vintage pieces for the weekend. I ended up getting a leather skirt for $10 and a really itchy jumper for $8. Best finds. Sorry about the picture, I hate doing outfit shots.

I HEART URBAN OUTFITTERS

On what seemed to be the most traumatising day of my life, I took my urban outfitters package, that conveniently was delivered on a public holiday, as a sign from god that after the storm there's always a rainbow...or some corny bullshizzle like that. Anyways, please see my below "rainbow".

and so a new chapter begins...

Exactly a year ago I handed in my resignation to my first job in the fashion industry, working retail at Wanted Shoes. The shoe showings and amazing things I learnt about designers made me realise that I can make my dream of being the next crazy, fabulous fashionsta come true. I was overwhelmed with excitement and mostly petrified at the new role I was undertaking. I kept thinking, "this is my foot in the door, if I can succeed at this, I'm in!" Nothing could have prepared me for what the fashion industry had in store for me, selling, designing, marketing - I did it all. Who would have thought I'd end up putting my years worth of uni-taught photography skills to use? Another year later, with what feels like a brain full of knowledge, I decided that I wanted to see more, learn and gain all the experience humanly possible while I'm still so young. I can't wait to see what Shilla has in store for me.

Thank you Ladakh for being the door that gave me the chance to dip my toes in.

lyrics that make your heart sink so deep they're tucked into your socks

Coz I feel like taking off
Let me be your supernova
Before you make the biggest mistake of your life
Just give me a chance to get it right get it right

You've got it wrong if you say our love is gone

Note to self

Note to self: you are very busy and important.

Will elucidate on this later.

valentines day

"The way of love is not a subtle argument. The door there is devastation. You step into love, you fall...head over heels. You ever see someone fall head over heels in love? It’s toxic, sceptic."

chasing pavements

I've made up my mind, don't need to think it over
If I'm wrong, I am right
Don't need to look no further
This ain't lust, I know this is love

But if I tell the world
I'll never say enough
Cause it was not said to you
And that's exactly what i need to do if I end up with you

Should I give up or should I just keep chasing pavements even if it leads no where?
Or would it be a waste even if I knew my place, should I leave it there?
Should I give up or should I just keep chasing pavements even if it leads no where?

happiness

HI ALLLL!!

Please excuse my overly excited greeting. My days and nights since my last post have been, well...all in all...terrible. Now I know, I know...there are PLENTY of people out there who have it worse than me but when you're going through a craptacular time you often feel like you're the only person whose ever felt so horribly depressed in your life. (Some say I'm dramatic...I think not!) Anyways, I've decided to make a list of the things that make me happy so I don't demise as a result of this encompassing melancholy.

  • Finding lollies hidden in the pantry
  • Guitar Hero
  • Quotes/lyrics/anything that makes my heart drop and my knees so weak they're held by my socks.
"Clouds are shrouding us in moments unforgettable, you twist to fit the mold that I am in. But things just get so crazy living life gets hard to do and I would gladly hit the road get up and go if I knew that someday it would lead me back to you."
  • When my pillow smells like my boyfriend even though he hasn't used it for weeks (either I'm not washing my linen often enough or he puts on way too much cologne - knowing me it's totally the unhygenic option)
  • Winning money :)
  • Seinfield/Friends/Will&Grace/Pretty Little Liars/Law&Order
  • Finding a little treasure tucked away in the corner of a smelly op-shop.
  • Makeup
  • Thinking of a good idea
  • The minute the weekend starts
  • Reading blogs - eatshopsleep.blogspot.com and jesslovesfred.com
  • Road trips including backstreet boys sing-a-longs and munchies

catch up

Hello there Bloggers,

Apologies for the lack of posts in the last few days, been busy working, getting food poisoning and cleaning my two rooms.

Work has been pretty hectic and busy, but that's what I love about it...it keeps me on my toes. Due to all the hard work we've been putting in our fabulous bosses allowed us to go to the Mink Pink family and friends sale a day before it opened. Now since I've worked in a sample sale multiple times, I've come to loathe them a little too much. The crowds, the smells, the hair-pulling and not to mention the dilemma of finding twenty items you must have and only bringing enough money for ten (*wha-cha* out slips the credit card). So after potentially facing my dreaded sample sale hates, I was more than relieved to find there were hardly any people at the sale. The prices were amazing too! I only picked up two items though (still on my saving spree) at only $20 a pop!

Okay, so the story of food poisoning begins...I assure you I will remove any gag-worthy material from this post. One lovely Thursday afternoon my amazing boyfriend Andy (pictured right, courtesy of the wonderful photography by Cheng) decided to surprise me at work and take me out to dinner. He made my office smell like boy and as soon as it hit 5:30 I quickly dashed out to meet my beau. A quick car ride and we made it to Pepper Lunch, one of my favourite Japanese spots. I know it's not so romantic and would totally be the McDonalds of Japan but the food is oh-so-delicious. Now it's somewhere between here and 7am the next morning that I wound up getting food poisoning. ORRRRRR, it is quite possible the cause of the chicken wrap I had for lunch that day. I just really wanted to mention  my two great loves, Pepper Lunch and the boy. Anyways, all of Friday I was left bed-ridden and starving.

I'm still not completely finished cleaning my room, it's a working progress. I'm really wanting to post some photos of my brothers former room, now known as my walk in wardrobe. When I finish cleaning I'll take a snap or two. :)

My weekend was pretty crazy too, was one of my best friends Christina's surprise birthday, my mother's 60th birthday/nephews 3rd birthday and Annaliza and AJ's birthdays at Brooklyn all in the one night. Don't tell me how I did it but I successfully attended all three! This weekend was also my return to Urban Agent at the new event Vanity at Verandah. It was so packed and EVERYONE was there, even people I hadn't seen in years. That was my weekend in a nut-shell and now I shall resume to my seedy Sunday.

Moral dilemma

Ok, so is it totally gross that I discard my used poppers and food wrappers in my bag and don't empty it for months to come? It sounds way dirtier than it actually is I promise! I just seriously have no where to put my rubbish. It mostly occurs on the train to central where there are barely any bins and I don't want to litter either so I face this moral/hygene dilemma. This is the reason I'll be holding on to all my vintage $5 leather bags instead of forking out some serious dosh on an amazing, genuine, hand stitched, leather, quilted chanel bag...*drools* Snap out of it! From now on I'm still going to store my delicious food waste in my bag, however it's going to be James Bond style waste removal whenever a bin is in my sights.

i'm sure all you fashionistas already knew, but...

I'm hooked...

http://eat-shop-sleep.blogspot.com is a must read for me! Not only
because the very talented creator is my friend, but who else would think of turning an old chambourne bottle into a fish tank? It's hilariously witty and full of great little fashion finds. 5 pairs of suade booties and counting...can't wait to read
some more!
